The Day They Made It's a Long Way To the Top

February 23, 1976 AC DC made the greatest music video ever, for a mere $380. They needed a way to bring out the entire town of Melbourne, so they hired a flatbed truck, loaded the drums, Mal and Angus, a group of bag pipers named the Rats of Tobruk Pipe Band and with a wink from Bon Scott, were on their way!! They wound their way through the city traffic in the middle of the day performing the song "It's A Long Way To The Top" weaving thru trolleys, cars, busses past churches and throngs of fans lining the street. Bon taught himself to play the pipes by listening to a pro Piper's version of the song on a cassette tape until he had sufficient rock pipes volume. When they uploaded the video, the song was only a hit in Australia and New Zealand. Before long it would be viewed by 38 million people. And that was then....back in the seventies. The greatest music video ever of a live performance on a moving vehicle with one cameraman.
