So Motley Crue's first show on the World Tour is Mexico City February 18th and to prepare, the band has been working out with the new road guitarist John 5 of Grosse Pointe, Mi. who seems to have eased into Mick Mars shoes effortlessly. What is always the X-factor is Vince. Fan video from two shows, 4 days ago in Atlantic City compared with Vince's solo gig at Casino Cochella a few weeks ago in January reveal Vince's technique of singing some of the lyrics, but working that mic arm heavily to get the audience's help with many of the band's verses. It's not a Kum Ba Ya sing along to be sure but Crue's fans don't seem to mind being part of the show. It helps that this leg of the Stadium Tour has worked in distractions from the vocals like the provocative dancing girls in light up skeleton bodysuits and John's bedazzled guitar. Note the difference between the two performances of his solo gig and the Atlantic City practice run.
