Punk Rock's origins go back to bands who found mainstreamy things like museums and halls of fame anathema. Sid Vicious might overdose again in his grave at this big news, but here goes! NOFX's Fat Mike Burkett longed to prove Punk Rock's rebellious pedigree after the departure of punk home stage CBGB's in NYC with a Punk Rock store that would also display artifacts of the complicated music movement. Somehow it evolved and now with a group of investors with credible punk ties, has found it's niche in the Punk Rock Museum in Vegas, opening January 2023. Investors like Pat Smear of The Germs, Nirvana and The Foo Fighters. Epitaph Records founder Brett Gurewitz, the Van's guy who invented the Warped Tour and skateboarder Tony Hawk all have a piece of it too. Opening January 13th, the museum will display thousands of punk iconic accoutrements like Debbie Harry's sweatstained tee's and Devo's energy dome helmets. From the second gen punkers, Sum 41's chainsaw that they used toopen shows on tour. And of course the usual beat to hell leather jackets and hand me down instruments including Johnny Thunders' seriously abused guitar. The Punk Museum moves into a gallery appropriately within walking distance to the "Little Darlings Strip Club". https://www.thepunkrockmuseum.com/news/ws6jlhgtjes2mdor2q1ke5geyh5kp4
