It was 1966, Jimi Hendrix put pen to paper and expanded all of our minds. Inspired not by LSD but a lifelong love of the stories of far flung worlds with trippy creatures like those spawned by Philip Jose Farmer, he wrote the psychedelic epic " Purple Haze". It hit the airwaves March of '67, three months later Jimi and The Experience were playing it at the Monterey Pop Festival.
