DNA Tests Reveal Wrong Bear Killed After Deadly Arkansas Attack

Remember that story we talked about a couple weeks ago where a camper was attacked and killed by bear? Well we have an update to what happened...

The wildlife folks down in Arkansas thought they had caught and killed the bear responsible, but DNA testing by Arkansas wildlife officials has confirmed that the black bear killed in Newton County was not the same animal responsible for a fatal attack at Sam’s Throne Campground, meaning the true assaulting bear remains free.

As a result, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission continues to trap and monitor the area, which remains closed to the public until the threat is neutralized.
