Bank Robber Arrested After His Own Mother Turns Him In

In a wild turn of events, a two-time Tampa bank robber is back behind bars — thanks to his own mom.

Authorities say 33-year-old Aaron Spencer was arrested after his mother called 911 and turned him in for robbing a local bank earlier that same day.

According to investigators, Spencer allegedly walked into the bank, implied he had a gun, and demanded cash from a teller. After getting the money, he ran off and ditched his clothing nearby in an attempt to hide his identity.

But his plan didn’t last long. Just a few hours later, his mother reportedly recognized her son as the suspect and decided to do the right thing — calling 911 and personally turning him over to deputies.

Here’s where it gets even more shocking — Spencer was already out on bond for a previous bank robbery earlier this year. Despite facing serious charges from that incident, he allegedly struck again just months later.

Law enforcement officials praised the suspect’s mother for her courage and integrity, calling her decision a powerful act of accountability. The arrest brings an end to Spencer’s second high-stakes crime spree — but this time, it was his own family who made sure he faced justice.
