In Charlotte, a dispute over a NASCAR shirt at a Family Dollar store escalated to a gun threat, according to eyewitnesses. The incident occurred at the North Graham Street location near Camp North End. A woman complimented another’s shirt and then demanded it — when the request was refused, tensions flared.
Witnesses say the woman threw water bottles, briefly exited, then returned waving a firearm and threatened bystanders, including a teenage girl who froze in fear. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police arrived and arrested the woman, who had her child with her, and she was reportedly taken for a mental health evaluation.
