The Atlanta Braves are World Series Champions for the first time since 1995. In a year that seemed lost by the All Star break, the Braves battled back and won it all. Even with the loss of pitcher Mike Soroka, outfielders, Ronald Acuna Jr and Marzell Ozuna, the Braves beat Houston in six games. It's the second championship during the team’s time in Atlanta and the fourth overall in franchise history.
Now, look at the adversity the Braves went through as an organization. The MLB made a political statement over voter laws and pulled the All Star game from Atlanta, moving it to Colorado. The Braves laid to rest one of the all time greats, Hank Aaron, a massive influence for the game and the Braves organization.
The Braves won behind manager Brian Snitker who has dominated as the Braves skipper, making it to the postseason four years in a row. Snitker even managed against his own son, Troy, a hitting instructor for Houston.
Max Fried, who had lost his last two postseason starts dominated the game after getting cleated on a close play at first base. Fried went six innings and didn't have a run scored against him. The Braves beat the Astros, 7-0, at Minute Maid Park in Houston.
The World Series Parade in Atlanta is planned for Friday with little details known at the time of this article.
