Sammy Hagar has conquered the worlds of rock n' roll and tequila. Now, he has his sights set on beer. And he has chosen the Motor City to do it. Hagar has partnered with Brew Detroit in Corktown to create a Mexican Lager aptly called 'Red Rocker Lager'. Red Rocker Lager is 4.3% ABV and will be available in stores and bars all over Michigan.
“Rock ‘n’ roll is at the heart of Red Rocker Brewing Co. and there’s no better place to brew our beer than in Detroit Rock City,” said Hagar. “We created Red Rocker Lager to not only honor the fans, but to also pay tribute to the soul of Detroit rock ‘n’ roll."
Head brewer and Michigan native Cameron Schubert worked with Hagar for months to get the recipe just right.
The beer will be introduced at a concert at The Fillmore on October 23rd with his band 'The Circle'. Tickets go on-sale Tuesday Sept. 19th at Live Nation.com.
