Are You Ready For Spring Football In The D?

The Michigan Panthers will open it's 2023 campaign on the road. They play April 16th at the Houston Gamblers (played in Memphis, TN) and April 23th at Philadelphia Stars (played in Canton, OH) before playing their first home game at Ford Field on April 30th against the New Jersey Generals. Kick-off for that game will be 4pm. In total, there will be five home games played at Ford Field, not including playoffs. The Panthers went 2-8 last season and played it's "home" games in Birmingham - Alabama, not Michigan which would've made way more sense. The team parted ways with Head Coach Jeff Fisher who stepped down due to personal reasons last week. He was replaced by Mike Nolan, who served as the Head Coach for the San Francisco 49ers from 2005-2008.

It will be interesting to see if Detroit embraces Spring football for a second time. Ford Field has a capacity of 65,000. The original Panthers team once attracted over 60,000 for a playoff game at Pontiac Silverdome in 1983.
