Over the weekend, Bun E. Carlos of Cheap Trick posted an excellent recording of the band's performance at Royal Oak Music Theater from Tuesday June 20, 1978. He intended to release it as part of his Basement Bootleg series but it never made it past the pre-production phase. According to Carlos on Facebook "This gig was 6 weeks after we played Budokan. We re-arranged some of the tunes for the summer tour.' The audio quality on this is incredible for a nearly 45 year old recording. The set list included 'Need Your Love', 'Surrender' and a cover of Terry Reid's 'Speak Now Or Forever Hold Your Peace'. They did three encores that night including 'I Want You To Want Me'. What a great time in the band's history.
