Fight Night at The Joe. The Brawl in Hockeytown. Turtle Day. Call it what you will, the 19,983 that saw it in person and thousands more who watched on TV will never forget it. It all started in the 1996 Western Conference Finals, when the Colorado Avalanche's Claude Lemieux sent the Red Wings' Kris Draper into the boards causing multiple injuries to Draper's face including having his jaw wired shut. The Wings were ready for payback on March 26, 1997. The rest is history and was a turning point for the team's future success.
