See Tom Petty in 1997 from the new boxset

A new Tom Petty box set is coming out from an unprecedented event. It was a 20 night residency at the Fillmore back in 1997 before we even heard of residencies. The Heartbreakers guitarist Mike Campbell said it was one of the highlights of his career. Because it was a 20 show run word got out that other musicians were stopping by to jam like The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, The Grateful Dead, the list goes on. Mike said the set list changed night to night because 'you never knew who was going to show up'.
