Joe Satriani asked to perform in a tribute to Eddie Van Halen

In a recent interview, guitar great Joe Satriani says he was asked by David Lee Roth and Alex Van Halen to participate in a tribute concert to Eddie Van Halen. According to Joe he replied jokingly that he "should hang up the phone right now cause no one can replace Eddie". Of course nothing has resulted from that conversation, yet. Satriani also stated that it should be up to Wolfgang Van Halen and Alex to plan out any type of reunion. After Wolfgang performed at one of the Taylor Hawkins tribute concerts he was asked if there will ever be one for his dad. He replied that 'Van Halen was to dysfunctional to plan anything". It all just leaves us shaking our heads. As David Lee Roth continues to release acoustic versions of Van Halen songs on his site we have to wonder, why not sing them on stage for one night in tribute? It makes me feel bad for Wolfgang. I hope he doesn't give up on it entirely, I'm sure the fans won't. https://bravewords.com/news/joe-satriani-i-was-shocked-to-get-a-call-from-alex-van-halen-and-david-lee-roth-getting-their-invitation-to-be-part-of-a-tribute-tour-for-eddie-van-halen
