With award show's ratings slipping more and more every year, it's hard to not be surprised by the guitar player's attitude toward the Grammy's. The music award show has struggled like the Oscars and other award shows to appeal to younger viewers but it seems unless someone gets slapped no one cares. In a recent interview Shinedown's Zach Myer exclaimed that he "couldn't care less" about winning a Grammy. He followed up that statement with he 'wins a Grammy every time he walks on stage to 10,000 people'. That I cannot argue with. I will say that Shinedown has been consistently ignored by the Grammys but not by 4 other award shows who have recognized not only their talent but also acknowledged that Shinedown is one of the best selling rock bands of the last 20 years. Zach is right, the dedication of the fans means more than getting an award from a group of people who don't even know who you are.
