U2 almost threw away one of their biggest hits

Since it's St. Patrick's Day I'd like to salute my favorite Irish band U2 and thank them for not throwing away one of my favorites "With or Without You". It seems hard to believe that they would even consider it but after months of working on the song the band felt it was going no where. Bono fought to keep it and with some help from producers got it moving. With the addition of a new invention of Edge's guitar called the 'Infinite Guitar' it helped give the song those ever lasting notes that fit perfectly with it's haunting lyrics. It went on to become the first single off Joshua Tree and one of the bands most successful songs. A St. Patrick's Day toast to persistence!
