Eddie Van Halen asked Daryl Hall to replace Roth

In a recent interview Daryl Hall revealed that Eddie Van Halen after a Hall and Oates show asked Daryl if he was interested in replacing David Lee Roth. Don't get me wrong, I love Hall and Oates. But take a look at the blond haired blue eyed Daryl Hall and think of him replacing David Lee Roth one of the consummate bad boys of rock and roll. Can you imagine him singing 'Ice Cream Man' or 'Everybody Wants Some'? Darryl has one of the best voices and certainly can out sing Roth but in a band like Van Halen it's about the swagger. Enter Sammy Hagar more party than swagger but the perfect fit just the same. I think Daryl made the right move. We got some great Van Hagar music because he said no and Hall and Oates went on to write some great songs too. And everyone lived happily ever after.... https://www.blabbermouth.net/news/daryl-hall-confirms-he-was-asked-to-join-van-halen-as-replacement-for-david-lee-roth/
