John Lennon once said his favorite song was 'Whiter Shade of Pale'. One of my favorite songs is 'Conquistador' both done by Procol Harum and both sung by Gary Brooker. Gary has passed away after losing his battle with cancer. Gary's voice was unmistakable, his performance with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra unforgettable. It's that album that made 'Conquistador' a hit with that fantastic Spanish trumpet sound. Most people will remember him from 'Whiter Shade of Pale' but I will always love the story of the bull fighter. Unlike him you did conquer.
