Eddie Vedder and Nikki Sixx hate each other's bands

I find it intriguing that middle aged wealthy men need to sound tough. At least I think Nikki Sixx does, you decide. Eddie Vedder in a recent interview talked about working in San Diego loading gear into clubs in the late 80's where the music scene was dominated by metal hair bands "I despised" he says. "Girls,Girls,Girls' and Motley Crue: (expletive) you. I hated how it made the fellas look. I hated how it made the women look." Nikki Sixx was quick to respond "Now considering that they're (Pearl Jam) one of the most boring bands in history it's kind of a compliment isn't it" Considering that Eddie Vedder was on the forefront of the grunge movement that all but erased hair bands in the early 90's that comment makes perfect sense. Of course Vedder wasn't a fan that's why he created something entirely different. Each of these bands have their fans and wild success because of talent and hard work. No one is going to like it all but it is interesting to hear what sparks the creativity to write music that doesn't sound like everything else. Sometimes that spark is Motley Crue. https://ultimateclassicrock.com/eddie-vedder-explains-why-he-despised-motley-crue/
