A massive fire tore through a 1.2 million-square-foot warehouse in Ontario, California, where large amounts of paper products like toilet paper and tissues were stored.
The blaze started shortly after midnight and quickly escalated into a six-alarm fire, fueled by the highly flammable materials inside. Around 175 firefighters responded, but the fire spread so rapidly that crews were forced to pull back and fight it from outside. The building suffered catastrophic damage, including a roof collapse, and was ultimately considered a total loss, though no injuries were reported.
Investigators later determined the fire was intentionally set, and a 29-year-old employee working at the facility was arrested on multiple arson charges.
Video circulating online appears to show the suspect lighting stacks of toilet paper on fire with a lighter while complaining about pay, moments before the flames grew out of control. Authorities are still looking into the motive, but the incident has drawn widespread attention due to the shocking footage and the sheer scale of the destruction.
