While it’s just a rumor at the moment, the fact that current Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh, who has been linked to other NFL teams before, seems to have genuine interest in the Raiders is intriguing.
Of course, Harbaugh has little reason to leave Michigan at the moment, especially after just signing a contract extension to remain with the Wolverines at the beginning of the year. Not only that, but Michigan capped off a 12-1 season and secured a spot in the Capital One Bowl against Georgia.
Still, Harbaugh could be driven to prove that he can lead a team to the promised land at the highest level. After all the Michigan boss led the San Francisco 49ers to a 44-19-1 record in four seasons as the head coach, making it to a Super Bowl and an NFC Championship game.
