Teen Arrested After Hiding in Walmart Overnight for TikTok Stunt

In Florida, police arrested an 18-year-old man named Isaac Hurley after responding to reports of a suspicious livestream inside a closed Walmart store in Englewood. Hurley had entered the store shortly before closing time and was broadcasting live on TikTok while hiding in the dog bed section, claiming he planned to stay inside for 24 hours as part of a social media challenge aimed at earning likes, shares, and, possibly, money from views. Officers found him recording on his phone and took him into custody after confirming the situation with the caller and surveillance.

In addition to the felony burglary charge related to trespassing after hours, Hurley was also charged with theft after allegedly taking a $16 iPhone charger during his livestream stunt. He was released on a $1,500 bond and has been ordered by a judge to stay away from the Walmart where the incident occurred. Hurley told police he believed the online stunt could lead to financial gain from TikTok, and he had only recently arrived in Florida after being kicked out of his home in Knoxville, Tennessee.
