The professional standards section of the Abbotsford Police Department in California is investigating a Saturday, November 26 incident in which an officer struck a man twice in the face while being arrested. It happened outside the Abbotsford Center after bands Simple Plan, and The Offspring performed.
A bystander recorded the incident, which displayed officers surrounding a man lying on the ground at the beginning of the video. Two of them try to wrap the man's arms around his back after they help him to his feet.
But as the man turns to face one of the officers, it appears he is resisting, and the officer hits him twice in the face, causing the man to drop to the ground.
Who is in the wrong, the man resisting or the officer who punched him?
