Rock fans were excited when the NFL announced that Soundgarden would be playing the halftime show of the NFL kick-off game between the hometown Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots on September 9th. Unfortunately, viewers of the NBC broadcast didn't see it. Here's fan shot video of that performance. Mike McCready of Pearl Jam played guitar (and also did the National Anthem). The band did a medley of "Outshined" and "Spoonman".
This isn't the first time the NFL has snubbed a rock act. Ozzy Osbourne had a similar situation back in 2022. At least then we at least got to see :15 seconds of his performance. This time, no mention of the performance whatsoever.
