See Inside Michigan Central Station During Renovation

The blog 'The Handbuilt City' has created a cool digital tour of the on-going renovations at Michigan Central Station in Corktown. The former train station, built in 1913, was long a symbol of Detroit's decline as it sat in decline for decades. In 2018, the Ford Motor Company purchased the property and immediately began rehabbing it. It's expected to re-open in 2022 and will house the company's mobility division and it's roughly 2,500 employees. It's hard to believe this beautiful building was slated for demolition as recently as 2009.
