Whether irrational or not, everyone has at least one phobia, don't they? For instance, I am definitely claustrophobic. Small spaces scare the bejeezus outta me! Went to a local haunted house during the Halloween season a few years ago and one of the exhibits required you and five other people to enter single file into a stable of sorts, shoulder to shoulder, leaving about six inches in front of and behind you. It's pitch black and they begin filling the stable with plastic balls, which quickly were piled over my head. I freaked my freak and thought I was going to crawl out of my skin. I was unfairly yelling at the guy to "OPEN THE DAMN DOOR!!"...I sounded like a little bitch, but I'll be honest, I was terrified!
Rock stars are no different. Freddie Mercury was scared of spiders. David Bowie, Gene Simmons and David Lee Roth all have a fear of flying, which to me is pretty reasonable. A vessel consisting of tons of metal, filled with hundreds of gallons of fuel, is going to propel itself off the ground and travel several miles above Earth??
